Tools for Mastering Parental Controls on Devices and Games

New devices and consoles can be very exciting! That’s why the best way to manage screen time at your house is to agree on some rules with your children when they first get their new devices. It is easier to put rules and parental controls in place when you are setting up new devices than it is to try to set boundaries later. There is a wide variety of settings available to you including those built into the devices themselves. All Apple, Android and Google devices have Parental Setting built in as do all game consoles.

With Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time, you can block or limit specific apps and features on your child’s device. You can also restrict the settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch for explicit content, purchases and downloads, and privacy.<

When you create a Google Account for your child with Family Link, you can set screen time limits on their Android device or Chromebook. You can set your child’s Android device or Chromebook to lock after they’ve used it for a certain amount of time or when you think they need downtime.
